Hancock Associates has announced the retirement of John Noonan, P.E., P.L.S. John had been a senior project manager at Hancock since the firm acquired Noonan & McDowell in 2018. During his tenure, he assisted Hancock’s growth in the Greater Lowell/Chelmsford area by bringing his strong knowledgebase of work throughout Billerica, Lexington, Wellesley and surrounding communities as both a surveyor and an engineer.

“Over the past few months, we have worked with John on the program for his retirement including the transfer of clients. We have also preserved the records from Noonan & McDowell so that we can continue to efficiently serve his client base in the region,” said Hancock Associates President, Wayne Jalbert, P.L.S. “We thank John for his hard work and wish him well in his well-earned retirement.”

Jeffrey S. Hofmann, PLS Joins Hancock Associates as Senior Project Manager

Hancock Associates is proud to announce that Jeffrey S. Hofmann, PLS has joined the firm as Senior Project Manager. Jeffrey is responsible for overseeing and managing all survey projects and staff in Hancock’s Newburyport office at 1 Harris Street and reports to Scott R. Jalbert, PLS, the firm’s Director of Surveying.

Jeffrey has over 35 years of survey-related experience including 15 years as owner of his own survey company. He has conducted and overseen a wide range of surveys including boundary, topographic, zoning and variance, land court, land title, construction layout, subdivisions, conservation, condominium, flood elevation certificates and mortgage inspections. Jeffrey has worked with legal counsel for municipalities and private entities to discuss and resolve title problems uncovered during the course of research and data collection and has served as an expert witness in court cases involving boundary disputes.

Jeffrey holds an Associate degree in Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology from Wentworth Institute of Technology. He is a registered Professional Land Surveyor in Massachusetts and Maine and a member of the National Society of Professional Surveyors, the Massachusetts Association of Land Surveyors and Civil Engineers (MALSCE) and the Maine Society of Land Surveyors (MSLS). Jeffrey lives in Haverhill, Massachusetts.

Hancock Associates Announces Promotion of Scott R. Jalbert, PLS to Director of Surveying

Hancock Associates is proud to announce Scott R. Jalbert, PLS has been promoted to Director of Surveying.

Scott has been with Hancock Associates for over 30 years and was promoted to Senior Vice President in 2020. As Director of Surveying, he will oversee all surveying management operations, including technology, QA/QC, policies and procedures, procurement, hiring, standards, personnel and related business operations.

Scott holds a Certificate in Land Surveying from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, is a licensed Professional Land Surveyor in Massachusetts and a member of the Massachusetts Association of Land Surveyors and Civil Engineers (MALSCE). He is MBTA Contractor Safety Trained and OSHA 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Certified. He lives in Salem, Massachusetts.

Hancock Associates Announces Semi-Retirement of Charlie Wear, PE, LEED AP

Hancock Associates has announced the semi-retirement of Charlie Wear, PE LEED. Charlie joined the firm in 2021 and was a Senior Project Manager in their Danvers and Newburyport offices. He will continue in a smaller, part-time role as Business Development Coordinator and focus on business development for Hancock’s eastern Massachusetts offices and mentoring staff.

“Charlie has always been a go-to guy on the North Shore, even-keeled with a keen ability to design great civil engineering works while maintaining a friendly rapport with clients. We are very happy that he will continue to be part of the Hancock team as he enjoys his well-deserved semi-retirement,” said Hancock Associates President, Wayne Jalbert, PLS.

Hancock Associates has announced the semi-retirement of Don Frydryk PE, PLS. Don joined Hancock Associates as a Regional Office Manager when the firm acquired Sherman & Frydryk, LLC, a land surveying and civil engineering firm located in Palmer, Massachusetts. He will continue in a smaller, part-time role as Business Development Coordinator and focus on business development for Hancock’s western Massachusetts offices and mentoring staff.
