ALTA
The American Land Title Association (ALTA), the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping (ACSM) and the National Society of Professional surveyors (NSPS) recently issued its 2005 Minimum Standard Detail Requirements For ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys. This is the first revision to their regulations since 1999. Whereas these standards are required nation-wide, the current revisions clarifies some discrepancies between state regulations, addresses technological advancements in surveying equipment and clarifies accuracy requirements. ALTA surveys are required when securing title insurance during the transacting of commercial properties.
