Staff Accountant
Location: Danvers, MA
DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, process outstanding communication skills and ability to work independently as well as within a team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Conduct financial analysis and generate reports to support management decision-making
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support
- Assist with audits and tax filings as needed
- Review and maintain payroll records and reconciliations, including timesheet review
- Prepare and manage daily and weekly cash reporting
- Maintain fixed asset tracking log
- Reporting to the Accounting Manager, Project Managers and Executive Team as required
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
- 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in an engineering or construction industry
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Advanced competency in Microsoft Office and accounting software, Deltek-Ajera a plus
