Staff Accountant

Location: Danvers, MA

DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, process outstanding communication skills and ability to work independently as well as within a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Conduct financial analysis and generate reports to support management decision-making
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support
  • Assist with audits and tax filings as needed
  • Review and maintain payroll records and reconciliations, including timesheet review
  • Prepare and manage daily and weekly cash reporting
  • Maintain fixed asset tracking log
  • Reporting to the Accounting Manager, Project Managers and Executive Team as required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in an engineering or construction industry
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Advanced competency in Microsoft Office and accounting software, Deltek-Ajera a plus
